    There is Adobe Flash on every thread page here, which Chrome automatically (normally) blocks.

    I would disable all of your Firefox extensions, and then re-enable them one by one.

    Also, to the moderators/publisher, not sure if this Flash javascript is even needed, as the site functions fine without it, as it contains many window.location.href which have been known to cause trouble with Firefox backbutton.

    Software has been updated.

    The JS Kokomala referenced was i think the uploader the site used.
    I think this may have been changed now.. I don't have a lot of free time right now but if someone could try it out..

    Thanks,

    The back button seems to be working so far this AM, but I've said that before only to experience wonkiness (technical term) later on in the day. Time will tell.

    Did those of you who tried it today, and it did not work, have you tried disabling your Firefox extensions and restarting Firefox? I'm assuming this is just happening on the Windows desktop version.

    It seems like an issue with the ad server, since the fix (above), I am no longer getting an indication of Flash being used.

    ADMIN: here is what my uBlock Origin is blocking:

    ||connect.facebook.net^$third-party,domain=~facebook.com|~fb.com -- script https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js

    ||googlesyndication.com^ -- script http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

    Here is what my Ghostery is blocking:

    I don't have any optional extensions (Add-Ons) running on Firefox, and I have both restarted Firefox and later my whole system, all to no avail. In my Task Manager, I show two different firefox.exe*32 running (even though my Win7 system is the 64 version), one running 41 CPU, the other 23, whereas I've never noticed two running at the same time before. I have fewer tabs open but seem to have much more activity than even last week. The problem has existed here for some months, varying from day to day and week to week.
    BTW, previous FF notifications said Flash is automatically disabled in firefox, or at least in this (32 bit!) ESR version. I've never had anything to do with facebook or tweeters but do use G.search...

    It's probably the ads, and not Admins fault

    I went to a Geek-Help site to ask if I could get any details from my system about the problem that would help the site admins. solve it, but was told I couldn't. Besides using another browser (which I won't do), a script-blocking add-on was again suggested, so I did a bit of 'research' ... and found this article talking about vulnerabilities those can bring:
    https://arstechnica.com/information...-firefox-add-ons-open-millions-to-new-attack/
    I've known people who liked No Script, and I even had it long ago, but based on the article, I chose AdBlock Plus, and since installing it, haven't had the CPU problem. Had thought about doing so for a long time, but just didn't get around to looking into it until now.
