Finally got time and money! The '64 is getting a new Holley Carb, the old 1904 was shot. Looking at getting some tires and finally got to hear that baby purrrrr! Still need to look at the tranny, drive , and fuel system..... slowly but surely....

i live in canton and have a 80 model diesel scout for sale if u know anybody interested, it does not have a motor, a guy from atlanta made me an offer on the engine i could not refuse...or i will part the truck out also, i have dana 44 axles, t19 transmission, dana 300 transfer case, basically everything except the motor, would like to sell the whole truck but will part out if needed 601-398-6178 or 601-405-9725 or pure_country931@yahoo.com

Is Mississippi Dead? Any one working on their Scout? I had to put mine on hold for a year, it killed me. Now I am going toget started on it again.

 

I am trying to finish up my 67 Sportop and started working on my 67 postal scout. Slow progress.

 

1975 Scout II auto mostly daily driver
1977 Scout II 3-speed mud machine topless (need to sell!) runs but I almost never drive it
1976 (I think) Terra auto was running but elec problems project

 

Notice I got my years all screwed up
I'm getting older and confuse myself on a daily basis

 

Well the '64 is up and running. Everything checks out and its drivable; although the engine seems to very under powered (152) but it runs! Had the compression checked and everything is within tolerence. Now I'm waiting on a guy to double check all the wiring. I have a new harness ready to go but it will have to wait until the body work is completed.

 

All right y'all!!! Guess I got the fever...... Although my '64 is up and running and by no means completed, I went out and bought a '69 800A. The body on this one is strong. I'll try posting some pics. Thanks to Randy B. for allowing me to have this one! LOL.

 

Wish I had known you were in the market. I'm not far from you and have a 74 I need to sell. (see details in midsouth classified). Maybe we could do a meet and greet for the guys in south Miss sometime.

 

Sorry i havent been on in a while, Kisela and I r close to u drtom, thats sound like a great idea to meet sometime. Kisela needs to chime in and get the pics up of his build.... lets do a M&G some time. Also what shape is your 74 in, and how much r u asking for it?

 

Asking 2800 OBO have three scouts, a 52, and a mustang. Need to sell. Can be seen at my workplace. Pics, etc on Midsouth classified or general classified this site. runs good offroad worthy now needs minor work to drive on highway. Come get it!

 

drtom, I saw the pics... nice scout, just too much for me right now. Sides, I have a 77 Scout II with a new tub to put on it. was mostly looking for some parts, etc. We should all get together some time though.

Well All - I did some dismantling of the 69 Scout. Slow, but making progress. I'll try and upload some pics shortly.

 

Ok. I uploaded some pics of the 69 800. Prior I had removed the two front fenders and face plate as well as the top. I was able to remove the bench seat and the bulkhead. Upon removing the bulkhead, I confirmed that the prior owner had riveted and chaulked in a sheet metal insert onto the bed. It took about 4-5 hrs to get everything done. Here are some pics.









In previous post, I have a picture of what the 69 looked like when I brought it home.
