Thanks, I used the stock front drive shaft with a little bit of grinding around the yokes to prevent binding.

The sun was out this weekend so I took advantage and dropped the motor in minus the pushrods and rockers The pushrods have been on order for weeks but have not arrived yet.

With those exhaust manifolds, do you go through a lot of valve cover gaskets? If not, what do you use for gaskets? I have a 440 in a 1967 IH pickup with those same manifolds, and we tend to burn up our valve cover gaskets on a regular basis. Great looking engine and Scout.

I have never had issues with the valve cover gaskets, but I usually open up the valve covers every year and end up replacing the gaskets then. Ideally I would like to run headers but our current tech points won't allow it, so I had the exhaust manifolds ported to flow a little better.

Less than a week until the first race, we did some testing today. It ran well right up until we exploded the front axle.

Front axle is repaired, I am hoping for a positive outcome at the Sheridan Race this Saturday.

The Sheridan Drags are over and we are already looking ahead to June 30th, Willamina.

Some improvements are needed, traction is now an issue, often times we were already in second gear before we left the line. No trophies were won this weekend but we finished in the top ten and I hope it only gets better from here.

I picked up some new shoes for Willamina today.

Nice job. I got less than a week now to get mine back up and running so I can beat on it fathers day. The frame bend is worse than I though, Causing about a 2" difference on were the air cleaner is SUPPOSED to stick through the hood and were it does :D

And its got to make it thought 4 more races

thats kind of the plan :hammer:... we'll see if it holds out. Problem is its also pulling the rad toward the motor, making my current project of installing an electric fan more difficult... so I might just be ******* the inner fenders sooner than later (I was trying to keep them for class reasons).

    :D

I can't remember the exact paint code numbers but the flames were painted with the stock Geo Tracker Pink. After the base coat and the flames were painted we sprayed it with a candy tinted clear coat to give it the pink finish.

After the Willamina race we had the transmission rebuilt, the front and rear clutches were welded together, I also replaced the transfer case, the front seal was leaking. We are headed to the Newport this weekend for a two day race, Hopefully there will be no more mishaps and we will bring home some plastic.

All loaded up and ready to go...
