Ok I am going to pic this one up tomorrow. He says it is a 1954 still working. $50, has a crack under the green tape, says latch needs a little work, and needs a new seal. Any ideas, suggestions, or info.
    Thanks

Found a place to get the seal for the door. If anyone out there needs a seal I had to buy 50' of it. I will only need about 15 so I should have enough to do 2 more. Let me know if you need some and I will pass it on at my cost. $1.25 per foot.

    Thanks!

here is a pic of my '54 fridge. I got it from my Scout soul brother,, whom I've met only twice. He has a first gen Scout of some type with three plush skunks in it, just like me, but that's a story for another time. If anyone knows this man, please put me in touch with him. The inside of the fridge does not have the "Femineered" freezer door(since I've owned it, it never has), and I've changed the outside a bit. It doesn't have the sticker pictured on the outside anymore, I peeled it and placed it on the inside. It has a similar looking one that says "chrome don't get ya home" I'm planning on adding two more keg taps down and to the right of the middle main faucet, kinda like a twin stick transfer case. This should work out nicely as I can fit three "corny" kegs of homebrew in it. My tap handle is a shifter knob off a transfer case stick. It just happens to fit PERFECTLY into the screw on brass taphandle that held some other taphandle at one point. Also the door handle is a bit messed up; I plan on fitting a passenger side scout II doorhandle onto it. I think I can make it work. Sorry about the pic being sideways, but I couldn't seem to get the one I uploaded to my gallery to link to this post. :oops:Maybe an admin can help me out and rotate it.
The SnoStar sheetmetal I got in a box of memorabilia I got online. I thought it the perfect tribute for my Scout kegerator. Cheers and happy trails, guys.

Yeah, the Snostar sheetmetal is quite the prize. You would not believe how many magnets it takes to keep that thing in place. I'll try and get a scan of the postcard my buddy gave me that I have on there now too. No idea where he got it and no markings on the back, but it has some 1950's looking guy standing at a phone booth next to what I suspect is a Travelall (again, no idea what year, but you can plainly see the cursive International script on it. It has round tail lenses) What makes it special is that there is a 3 story tall house cat playing with a honda civic like it was a feather toy or something in the background. Very surreal. I love it.

Here is the pic of my old seal and a copy of what the new seal I ordered looks like. Hope this helps.

While it might be a bit ghetto, I just hot glued a foam "caulking backer" rope where my old seal had failed. Seems to work fine.

Ok guys. Heres my newest addition to my collection. My second refrigerator. I watched it for about a week in a half on Tucson Craigslist before I came to my wits and called the lady. I am so glad I did. Its a model: HA-92 and the year is 6-22-1951. Its MINT. Very clean and nice. The lady i bought it from said her dad bought it brand new in Benton, Iowa and supposedly he was either a owner, or worked at the IH dealership there. Anyway, it works great and I was going to put it in my shop, but its way too nice so I put in in the garage. Enjoy.

I'll get pictures and stats up for my gem. My boss moved to a condo about 4 years ago and told me he had a fridge I'd want... "No thanks I don't really want an old fridge..." His reply: "Dave... It's an International Harvester... I only want $50 and you can pick it up tonight..."

It has saved our bacon "literally" twice when our modern fridge took a dive.

This past week I had a real scare. One of our daughters left the door open and all I could smell was HOT and it wasn't running. I found that the motor starter had failed. I have a new one ordered through APCO http://www.appliancepartsonline.net/index.php?target=products&product_id=219

Oh, and to all those nuts who think we need to get rid of these old energy hogs, I'll say that my "new" Energy Star fridge draws 4.7 amps while my IH draws only 2.5 amps.
