There are 16.5 tires available. They are more expensive to get them at that width. Type in 16.5 tires in your search bar. Walmart has a some listed for about 110.00 apiece. LT 8.75 x 16.5.

I have seen skinnier tires in the 16.5LT flavor, however I bet these wheels are wide to fit the wider tire. Might not be able to get something that skinny on them?

I have been sending questions back and forth with the seller trying to determine if the CTS-2300 I am looking at pertains to the 70 and newer vintage. I saw some threads on here that state some show body parts for 69 and older while others show newer. I want to make sure I get the right one. Additionally this version has an X-457 on the front cover. Is that associated with any type of print date? I cant seem to find any info on what that number corresponds to. I have asked him to send me pictures of the body section to see what vintage trucks are depicted but he really doesn't know what he is looking at.

    Thank you Jeff!

I assume the D-1300 is the same as a 1300D right? I'm gaining info that there are some slight changes in how they label the models throughout. If so it looks like my truck is included here if the pictures are 69 and up. Does yours have the X-457 on the cover too?

Jeff, looks like that one is for the 61-68 C series?
Going through the models it covers it looks like the "D" 900 -1500 falls in line with the 65 C series model.

    No. D1300 is a 1965. .

It has all of them in it. It covers several. But if its cheap enough get it. They do have 1 s.manual specifically for yours. But thats a different book. Mine is at the shop.

Good point! I did not take your current rim width into consideration.

Plan for now is to get a set of pre-super duty rims and run some cheapie tires until I can afford the correct tires for my current rims.

Wow, that's a big alternator! It looks like it could run a small house!

Those old ones looked like beasts. Unsure what that one would be but our 70 ambulance had a 130 amp. It is massive as well.

I have secured a spot (with heat!) in our shop for this winter season, so my plans are starting to come together. Now I need to get my allowance put together for a good set of parts/service manuals.

I didn't end up buying the CTS-2300 as the owner was sending me Loadstar pictures out of it and not what I was asking. Best bet to just get the correct one.

Off topic for a quick question about something I've been wondering about.. I remember posts about alternator upgrades and possible gage issue. With typical 32 or 60 amp alternators back then, would you know if these trucks have different ones or is there some other feature with them that prevents gage issues?
