Test and replace? Do new ones need to be tested?

Testing replaced nozzles is a way to prove they all are spraying good. They were all in need of help. This diesel had not been run since 1995. Much easier to start since the serice although I still have too much smoke at startup. Once warm it runs great. Better than the other one I have that does not smoke much at start up. I am going to do hot and cold compression tests next.

Even assuming new nozzles are spraying properly they would still need to be "tested" to set their opening pressure.
