Got pulled over today for not having doors on my scout, local cop said pa law states if it came with doors they must be on it when on road use,
Seems this is true, so I was wondering were they an option, so if I wanted to buy one without doors was that possible, hence my loophole,
Or are there any other ways around this guy giving me a ticket on every nice day from here on out,
    Thanks for any insights

Doors were an option for SSIIs as were passenger side and rear seats and the top

You should be legal if you are running door inserts, you cant have a flat floor at the exit.Do you have problem with inspection that way?if not you are street legal per Pa state inspection, cops inforce the inspection laws.

Good question. Here is a poster of the different Scout SS models.
All are shown with a soft top and soft doors.

Thanks for the quick replies I just wish there was something I could use as concrete evidence that I was legal without them, fighting the gray area still means missing work to avoid a fine, we'll keep searching

It was a factory option to run an SS II w/o doors, must have been legal when they were built and I bet it's still legal now. Probably a retard cop. Dispute the ticket if you got one.

Note what was stated above. You can't have a flat floor to the outside of the vehicle. The SS door inserts have a step, just like jeeps. If you were to bolt a 4" or so piece of metal, plastic, whatever at the floor level of the vehicle you would be legal. Also helps when junk is rolling around on the floor it don't roll out. I got pulled over for the same thing 15 years ago, Louisiana has the same law.
