I removed the 2' body lift on my scout and disconnected the clutch linkage to do it. Here's what I did to hook it back up:
    1. Adjusted the Rod that actuates the pedal to shorten it
    2. Pedal sits at 9' from the angled floor
Hooked the clutch link rod and the Pedal actuator rod back up and the clutch has almost no resistance and doesn't engage, I can't figure out how I messed something so simple up . . .

Any insight would be appreciated. I'm having the Scout blues today.

    Thanks!

My scout with a 1.5" Body lift and new poly body mounts has just enough length on the stock clutch rod for proper adjustment. Id think yours is likely too long. You sure it wasn't cut and had a couple inches added to it? The measurement you're really concerned with is the TOB engagement not the pedal position. The return spring regardless should always put your pedal back to 9" regardless of how the rod is adjusted.

Like what was said above. Your clutch rod is too long. It has either been extended or someone put a new one in that was longer.

I think you guys are right. The rod definitely looks to have been welded. Mine measures 17 and 3/4 inches from the bottom of the forks at their lowest setting (end of threads).

Anyone have one handy to confirm the stock length? If not, I can call my friends at ihparts

    Thanks for the advice!

Circling back on this one. My clutch rod was just over 17' from base of threads. Ordered a NOS one from IHParts and it's 15' at the same measurement. Will install in a week or so and I think I'll be back in business.

Fix the lean before you install and adjust.
