I had a distributor pickup fail on me this weekend. Major PIA to fix while still in the truck btw. The culprit, the bottom of the rubber plug where it passes through the distributor had worn through and was grounding out on the body of the distributor. I guess I didn't give it enough of a relief cut, so when I snapped the dist cap on, it was forcing that rubber piece into the dist, causing it to wear through. Just something to keep in mind when doing your dist conversions. give that plug lots of room to sit in there.
