I have removed my hard top several times. Each time does not get any easier. Wondering if someone has a good way of doing it using only 2 people.. spare tire is mounted off the back so adds another challenge to the process.
    Thanks

Few guys have posted lift systems in their garages. If you don't have a garage get more hands.

I've removed and replaced mine by myself for years. I back into the garage. I have two tow straps already attached to the ceiling (joists?). I lift the top with my back and slip the rear strap under the rear of the top. I then thread the front strap through the front window openings. Then lift the top again and slide the strap under the top just behind the window openings. Then drive away.

I have a friend making me a hoist with a Harbor Freight motor and some other odds and ends.

In the meantime, I am using one of those storage platform racks from Amazon. I don't have pics but you attach to the ceiling of your garage and use straps under the rear and thru the window openings, then use the crank to pull it up and out of the way. $180 .

There are several threads on the site about this subject, with some very creative ideas. Every spring I think that I am going to get around to making one, then end up turtle-ing it off and setting it on an old wood hauling trailer. Then again in the fall, turtle-ing it back on and thinking that, "This is the last time I'm going to do this!". I think this is the spring, that it is going to get done!

You can make a lift system as difficult or as easy as you want. I simply bought 3 ratcheting rope hooks and 3 eyelet lag bolts each rated for 150lbs. That roof can’t weight more than 200 lbs IMO. I use to both take off and re install mine by myself in high school. I made sure I was dead center in the studs in my garage roof with the eyelets 2 in the front and one in the center rear. I lift it a little at a time moving between each rope and can take it off by myself. I may add a winch and cables with pulleys in the future but this works great for now.

I used to think that too, but every year that I age, it seems to gain another 25 or 30 lbs!
