Selling a 76 scout II with a 1980 sd33t t19 dana 300. Engine runs strong has a smaller Mercedes turbo, but have the original turbo with it. Spin on fuel filter with a 10 pound electric fuel pump. New Napa clutch.
Scout runs drives its currently on rollers for tires, or you could drive it on the road. $4000
Have alot of parts available.
Do you have any pics? Where are you located?
Looking for a set of injectors and an oil pump, I'm in Arizona.
I have a T19 (wide ratio, 6.32:1 low gear), Dana 20 and the flywheel housing and clutch parts from my '78 SD33 for sale.
These came out of a Scout I have been driving. They shifted great with no noticeable leaks.
Somebody bought the motor, but I still have the flywheel housing, flywheel, starter (needs solenoid), clutch, pressure plate, SAE #4 bellhousing, release fork and linkage.
$800 for everything OBO. I will separate. I will ship.
How did I drive with the wide T19? I heard the wide T19's have too big of steps between gears and the T19 close us the way to go. What's your opinion?

I really like the deep gears for off road. I was careful in my new build to retain that crawl ratio. Obviously, 1st gear is no use on road. My Scout has 4.10 gears. So, even the close ratio 4:1 first gear would still be too low and useless on road. The close ratio might be useful for an underpowered vehicle with taller gears or big tires if you need a little help getting it rolling. I once contemplated going to a close ratio trans and 3.07 gears, but I found the SD33 was more comfortable wound tight, so I drove it on road with 4.10s and liked it that way.
I currently have 3.73's with a 727. I am in the middle of removing the tub to repair rust so I thought this would be a good time to go manual. I was going to go with 4" lift and 33s but I found a smoking deal on 35s. Now I have to add a body lift.
Before I started the disassembly, I shackled it up and tried 33s. With the 3.73s it seemed ok power wise going down the road with the 727 and 33s.
Now that I found 35s I thought about a steeper gear and an nv4500 for the hwy gear. Pretty pricey going that route though.
