it ranges depending on running vs non running and how bad the person wants to get rid of it.

you should have sat on that just a little longer, all the figures I'm finding on runners are between 1500 and 5000, depending on known history of said running engine. not to mention the coast in parts for these engines, turbos and intakes alone go for 500 a peace. thats too bad u could have profited a bit more that 3bills. called super scout, the core for a non runner is 800, and thats just the block.

The market for these er, assets?, is illiquid, to say the least. A running engine is worth exactly its weight in scrap at most locations in time and space. This is the reason for a rather thin supply, and a corresponding high price at those few moments when demand pops up.

Thanks for the long winded agreement that, it was worth more "than its weight in scrap", Dave.

Wanted to Buy/acquire a connecting rod and piston for a turbo diesel.

    At a minimum I need a rod.

I am making a running 5 cyl into a six again!

I may have some parts for sale in the near future.
It all depends how soon I can rebuild one engine to see what I have left.
    Basically I have 3 engines;
    a) my running scout
    b) spare complete engine, it cranks but won't start might just be the full injection pump.
    I haven't had a chance to check.
    c) a complete engine IN PIECES.(freshly painted)

I have a complete overhaul kit that I will be using. Once thats done I will sell whatever parts I have left.
Text works best for me as I don't check the site as much as I should.

    Selling:
-I am getting ready pull My drive train out of my 80' Traveler, hopefully with in the next week or so. Reason is I'm doing a LS swap putting a 6.0 out of a 2004 Chevy HD picking up the trans later this week(4L60E) and need to get moving on this thing. Poor old scout hasn't run in about 6 weeks and Im tired of Not driving it. Offer me a fair price and I'm will to work with ya.
I was driving this most days to and from work 50 miles round trip a day before the starter died; it is what it is, but it drove fine, slow and steady. My Boys get home on the 3rd and will probably start pulling the engine when they get back.

SD33 -the turbo it was gone when I got it. The T19 transmission with clutch linkage, pedal everything. I also have Both of the books for the SD-33.
-SD33 ran fine until the starter finally died, Fine=smoked at Start up until it warmed up (white smoke), smokes out the draft tube a good bit, topped out at 72 mph, no air filter, small very small leak around valve cover, drove it to work most days, recently I drove it to Lufkin and back with no issues its just loud (straight exhaust).
    -T19 Transmission= zero issues
-Dana 20 Transfer Case= works but doesn't want to stay in 4low, (really think its just the detent ball) comes with another Dana 20 that's torn apart with a cracked case.
-Also have the front drive shaft can go.
-Cardboard glove box in fair condition
-Dash with or with out gauges: speedometer doesn't reads past 45 but I really think its the cable, its worn but I could be wrong. The fuel gauge doesn't read but I think its the sending unit. any way assume they don't work.
-Front bumper, painted black but in good shape.
    - I know I have other stuff on the shelf I'll post later when I get a better inventory.

    Thanks IMG_4528.JPG IMG_4530.JPG

My sd33t is near death. What progress have you made? Got a good engine for me in Colorado?

You may want to try Phil Coonrod in Grant, Colorado. He has one non-turbo engine that came out of a diesel Scout Traveler. It has fairly new liners and pistons. I also had the injectors rebuilt by Eldon McFarling and have about a year on them from when they were installed. I also put in new rod and main bearings when I installed the pistons. It has been converted to use a Chevrolet diesel CDR rather than using the road draft tube. I parted the truck out because the body was to rusted out to fix and I had nothing I could transplant the diesel drive train into at the time. Phil had one other non-turbo SD33 but I have no idea of the condition.

    Hello Friends,

I have a post 1984 Nissan SD33T engine available for purchase if anyone is interested. I purchased this same engine for my 1980 Scout 2 a few years ago and is a direct fit. Requires a few small mods, nothing major. Motor is used and runs solid. This is an updated engine (Nissan Patrol 84-89) with upgrades to the fuel pump, oil cooler, turbo, and cam gears. Please email me if interested, motor ships from Europe and requires 6-8 seeks to arrive to US.
I also have two post 1984 SD33T cylinder heads if anyone is interested. Cylinder heads require shipping from Europe.
