Yep.....I knew something just HAD to go wrong ....
    It did...
When I started wiping the door down to remove the buffing compound
There it was ...big as all getout...
    I burned thru the paint....
    Toothpicks ain't gonna fix this...
Now I'm wondering if I should repaint both doors...
Since they both have had the same treatment done to them.. (Josh?)...
Oh well ....here we go again.....sorry Ed

Oh Sh!t. Double Sh!t. When are you (we) going to learn to leave well enough alone?

I contacted the undercover painter yesterday too.... I managed to put a big-assed scratch in my door. Bottom line is I'm Sh!t out of luck. Repaint it, live with it, or sell the Scout!

    YOU'RE KILLIN ME!!!!

This is very depressing. I'm glad I like old ugly/rusty trucks! When you do it this nice, even the smallest little mess up is noticeable.

    Good luck Greg!:cowboy::thumbs up:

Bad news comes in threes! Ed, Mongo, and me, we all burned or scratched fresh paint this week. Something is in the air and it stinks! :dots::thumbs down:

In my defense I warned the customer it wasn’t going to be perfect and then I wanted to over deliver, so I over buffed one speck of dust til I burned through when all along the customer may have been happy with the work, but in the end I wasn’t happy with it.

Josh that's sorta what I did....I was trying to please a hard to please customer...and went to far...Haha

I decided if I was gonna redo one door, I might as well do both ...gotem both sanded down and back in the paint cave....I got to thinking about all the sanding I had done after painting, when I was dealing with the eyeballs...better safe than sorry...
I've about decided the next truck I do I'm gonna use a paint roller and barn brush to paint it..

    Aw jeez...

I'm really sorry to see that, Greg.

Who scripted this thriller, anyway? When do we get to the happy ending?

Nail-biting can only go so far...

There's a trick to hiding paint blemish's. Just need to make the eye focus on something else.

I went back out to look the doors over and make sure I got everything coated good...
And of course...a bug made hisself at home...thankfully it's a small one and it's on the last coat I sprayed..so he should come loose with the wetsanding..
Josh...I think my average is closer to 3% of the time...Haha
Johnny ..I sure hope it's the last time..

Obviously you didn't listen to any of us during the last 11 iterations saying you're finally done. And coupled with the fact that your QA manager is as big of a prick as mine is, it's no wonder you are on numero 12! So, instead of positive support that doesn't seem to work, this time I'm going to try to reverse course: that last paint job really sucks. You should be ashamed. And may I suggest a bright green metallic paint scheme next go around, perhaps like a Honda Insight?

What's next (on a more serious note)?

    Hahahahahahaha...ohhhh meeee...

bright green metallic isnt a choice for me..undercover painter maybe...but not me..
But dark green was the other color I had picked out...
I let my buddies wife choose...green or red..she chose red...I was leaning more towards green, but my 50s. Chevy truck is gonna be dark green...
If door buffing doest turn disastrous, the cab is next in line for paint...
All this extra painting has used up most of my paint, and if I have to paint the cab 12X I'll need some more paint..
Still have some wiring to finish up..
We've got a 2 week shutdown at work coming up ,so I wont have much truck time till after..
