I just purchased an ‘80 Scout Terra Diesel and thinking about repower options. You can put an older Chevy bell on the LS and you can buy an adapter to mate the Scout manual trans to the stock GM bell. So couldn’t I do both and keep the Scout trans and transfer case? It seems like most people put the LS in and keep the GM automatic and transfer case. I want to keep it manual shift. I don’t plan on taking a lot of long trips. Just a daily driver in the summer.

Try posting over in the General forum for more exposure. You can search as there have been quite a few folks doing this. Good luck!

Call Advance Adapters. Why not a 5 speed, NV4500?
