I was thinking just the obvious fact! But I could see your dilemma. :tt2: It could also be just plain old simple jealousy!

One thing I know for sure, if and when I finish my current build and it makes it through "initial inspection" here on BP, then I'll need to figure out a way to get it past Jerry. That will be one tall order. :sweatdrop:

And just a minor hijack: Did you ever mount that "vertical seat extender" Jerry? If I knew what I know now, I would have cleaned it up before shipping it off!

What I fine mess I've gotten myself into. :( Had I know earlier I would be labeled "that guy", I would have stuck a sock in it much earlier.

    I love those.

I made a promise not to have them chromed, and I will keep that promise.

I will share, however, 2 weeks ago, I started accumulating powder coating powders + equipment, and there is a strong possibility that the extenders will be beautified in a 400 F degree oven at some point in the future. :)

I've been dreaming of powder coated wheels.
It's so satisfying to watch the application of the powder before it gets baked.
    What equipment did you purchase?

right now, I've been purchasing some small containers of powder, some Eastwood stuff and a small oven. I'm going to start off small (i.e. brackets), and try to figure out if this is is something I can successfully do.

@Randall Barringer That thing looks like it was meant to be there! Sure came a long way to find it's new home. If you're curious google Kasigluk Alaska. I've not gotten the dust cover on yet but looks to be a perfect fit.

I've been fighting a pop in my exhaust for a while and after posting about it, tinkering, testing, etc I decided to replace the carb with a NOS I had.
I think it's fixed, but will know for sure after I'm able to drive it a while.

Short post after a long absence on this thread. [IMG][IMG]

    Yeah, I know.
I held out for as long as I could.
No point in it sitting in a box.

I take it that Jeff sold you the NOS carb? Either way, I hope that does the trick for you.

Now you just need to put some "patina" paint on it so it blends in with the engine :tt2:. Actually, your engine looks pretty damn nice for a 55-year old!

No, it was a lucky ebay find.
    Thanks!

Curious if the NOS carb did the trick?

    Nope.
My late night internet readings have led me to my muffler.
All of my vacuum readings for the valve train came back good.
I also need to change my plugs, but don't expect much change.
    Super frustrating issue.
I had a 68 800 with a 196 that ran super smooth and quiet. I know what these little engines are capable of.

    Update.
So, I retimed the engine and adjusted the fuel/air ratio using a vacuum gauge.
    It's definitely better.
I'd done the same adjustments with the old carb and it didn't help.
I still want to change the plugs, but for now it seems to be better.

Any ideas on what could be wrong with the carb?

    CBD vapor :clap::clap::clap:.

Current build will get a 1904 (it's that 101% originality thing). Next one is looking like a Weber 32/36. If I live long enough to get to the third one and the money momma lets me, I might try my luck with FI.
