Does anyone have any pictures or ideas for locking a standard military ammo can? I got one for $10 and plan to bolt it into the Scout, and would like a way to make it secure.

    Thanks

Depends on what size. 50mm is easy, you just need a flat type clasp for a padlock that you can bolt to the can under the existing latches so that it goes through an existing slot. Other sizes may need other methods.

7.62 1500rd can - hasp on each side is the only way I know of to lock it effectively. If it is hard mounted, you can build a locking mechanisim over the lid. I just pulled some 3/32 6013 welding rods out of one I put in it 17 years ago and burned them just fine. This can has moved coast to caost twice, been through 5 hurricanes and floated off into woods in Hurricane Ivan. These things are GREAT!!
