I would cry. I know you probably did. I'm glad your alright. Were thinking and praying for you folks down there.

Windshield frames are not hard to replace, much easier since you have the top off... but unfortunately I think that the least of your problems, the end cap and quarters are going to be much harder. Hopefully you had insurance. It's a shame, it looked like a pretty solid, and beloved scout.

That sucks. I noted the big metal storage facility in the background. The scout should have been in there. I am a big proponent of keeping these old vehicles out of the weather. Even a hurricane. In a couple of the hurricanes in the 2000's my scout was in an open garage. It got blasted pretty good with brackish water. It did not result any lasting damage but did create a rust sheen over the running gear.

Probably and I thought the same for a second but realized we're all experts after the fact and it's kinda hard to predict what's going to happen and in which spot. Maybe if it was parked three feet forward or even next to the garage it might have made it through. But there's a good amount of trees around there, looks like the garage is occupied and sometimes something's going to have to ride it out outside. The landscape is pretty similar to where I am, so I feel his pain but luckily we've never had winds like that in a very long time. However we get some decent wet snow and enough wind that can bring down countless trees and limbs. We just had one about that size, among countless others, come down last winter and it just barely cleared the house and my sons car. We also had some 'smaller' limbs snap off 30'-40' up and skim the house just damaging the siding a little but the whole house shook just the same. . Scary as hell being out there and hearing limbs cracking all around you, trees and limbs falling in the distance and when they come down, they're backed by some serious weight. Guess what I'm saying is, during things like that I'm just as concerned about something coming down on the garage and creating a mess as I am about anything left outside.

There wasn’t any room. When my dad moved back from South Carolina all there stuff was put in there. That building is full literally to the roof
