I'm starting this thread for open discussion on AZIHR 2013. You can post comments, questions, opinions, etc. Please try to keep it positive and respectful. We know that you can't make everyone happy with all decisions but a best effort was made to accomodate everyone.
    Have at it...

    Maps

Here are a couple maps of the Park. The first is an overall view of the entire Park showing the location of all the roads and facillties.
The second one is a detail view of the Ringtail Group Area, which is the only one of the three group areas (large, small & Ringtail) with designated camp spots.

The small group area was the one originally reserved for the Rendezvous. After our site visit, we determined it was too small and were able to negotiate to reserve the larger, Ringtail Group Area as well. The large group area on the left was already reserved by another group.

The Ringtail Group Area is large enough to accomodate everyone who wants to camp onsite. There are tent, truck and RV spaces available.
If you want hookups, however, you'll have to make reserations in Campground A or B (http://azstateparks.com/Parks/CATA/index.html). Be advised that early March is the busy season at CSP and the full service campgrounds fill up quickly.

We anticipate having the show and shine in the center of the Ringtail Group Area. Our Sat night awards banquet will also be held in the ramada.

The small group area will be for vendors, for sale and swap spaces and any overflow tent camping.

Each group area has a fire pit which is the ONLY place an open fire may be built.

Restrooms, sinks and showers are located to the south of the group areas and are common to all three areas.

    Nearby amenities

Here's a link to the Store Directory for Oro Valley Marketplace which is a new mall directly west of Catalina State Park on Oracle Road (Hwy 77).
    http://www.orovalleymarketplace.com/storedirectory.shtml

Most of the stores are fairly upscale but if you want a change from primitive camping and rusty IH's, you might check it out.

    Good News!
In case you missed it on our web site,
Sonora Desert Scouts will pay for half of your camping fees at Catalina State Park !
As you may recall, there is a $15 fee to camp per night, and since times are tough, and we want everyone to be able to attend, and we have room in the budget, we can ease that burden.
Get your rigs ready and start packing, it'll be here before you know it.
    Thanks,
    Jerry
