Anyone know how to fix a sun visor that 'falls down' every 5 minutes?

I have a perfect condition passenger sun visor in my Scout II--except that after 5 minutes, it will be in the down position instead of the up position. Any thoughts on how to fix that?

Pull off the visor and bend the metal rod into a shallow wavy shape and reinstall. Assuming that a Scout II visor is similar to a 80/800 visor.

I tightened up a Scout II set with a pair of channel locks. It is basically a metal hollow sleeve over a rod. Seems like I took a piece of leather to put in the jaws of the channel lock so to not destroy the fabric and gently squeezed my way along the top. Gently is the key. Worked for me.

I did that on my old truck, took coarse sand paper to the rod as well. Just scuffed it a little and that seemed to work.

I used a rubber vacuum line cap, put that over the rod. Sun visor only moves when I move it now.

Crimping the sun visor where the rod is inserted worked great. Definitely pull the visor off the rod first and cover it with a towel or something and then squeeze it a few times.

    It now stays up perfectly.
