Got a 65 scout 80, 152 engine, t90 trans, dana 18 t-case, dana 27 axles, dealer installed snow plow that operates off a belt driven pump. was gonna restore original, now gonna do a few mods. so I have a few questions

1.) any tips on installing speakers? will speakers fit between the bulkhead & bench seat? pics would be helpful

2.) is the weber carb conversion worth it?

3.) is the available exhaust header worth it?

4.) I have seen pto winches mounted behind the grille, will a modern electric winch fit? if so what brand/model is recommended

5.) will the cpt lift kit clear 33's or just 31's

thanks for any input, this scout has been in the family since new. now it is mine, first scout I have ever owned. has been used for plow/farm duty all its life.

I have a 70 800a, and after swapping in Scout 2 dana 44 axles, the CPT lift kit was the 2nd thing I did.

I would really like to run 33" myself, but short of a body lift or something else, 31's are probably the best I am going to be able to do on my 70. YMMV.

Not counting in price, I still have not decided, if I had it all to do over again, if I would have done the SOA kit for this Scout.

    Looking forward to your build.

Speakers. I don't bother with a radio in my 80 because it is used mostly for hunting so who needs ?

If I were to install a radio, I would investigate the kind that consist of a flat piece of styrofoam; stick it on the door and call it done. The units at the Marine stores are billed as waterproof which would be another + .

Do the Weber or Weber clone conversion. Biggest bang for your buck.
