    Just heard back from the machine shop, the heads are NOT cracked! It does need a valve job though. I asked him to proceed on that. Good news to me.

    Totally out of curiosity here, how much does a valve job run on a set of IH heads? Ive only done Chevys in the past.

    It's not cheap. All my exhaust valves were toast. I spent prob $1500 on new exhaust valves, guides and seats with machine work.

    And that didn't include new rockers, or shafts.

    I am waiting for the final myself, and will report back. I was quoted $90 to magna flux the heads and $175 for the valves. I did provide my own seals and some other assorted stuff so that should help my cause.
