Re: Hamilton Fuel Injection at the Nationals!!

Hamilton Fuel Injection will be there again this year.
I think I am scheduled for 2 or 3 Fuel injection Seminars this year so plenty of time to ask questions!!

    Thanks for asking.

I wanted to make one of your seminars last year and didn't, now I need to cause the Scout I'm driving out has FI! I need to learn more about it, might even go that route on my 79 after seeing how nice this one runs.

Nats/IH shows are always a good time to put faces to names and have a chance to hang out with guys you talk to all year.

Actually working on picking up a second setup right now to go on the 79, and yup, I've been on there studying but not sure how much I'm learning. Time will tell I guess!

Hopefully I can tie all the pieces together during the seminars.
If there's enough time we may be able to do a tuning 101 session.

Sounds like it would be a good time for you to log some data to verify your tune.

LOL, Make sure you point it out to me.

Should we just make it a weekend live install seminar?
Drive in with a carb and out with EFI.

That would be sweet! I wonder if EFI would mellow out my cam lope at idle.(that would suck)

I've thought about doing an install at a show for quite a while but trying to coordinate it with someone who wants to purchase a system at the time of the show is a little tough.

Cam lope is a result of the lift and overlap. The overlap of the valves refers to both being open at the same time.
The up side is it allows a complete new charge of fuel and air into the cylinder while the down side is some of the raw fuel goes out the exhaust.
That raw fuel causes havoc with the O2 sensor.
At idle it's a big issue because the o2 wants to correct it and lean the fuel mixture. At higher rpms the fuel is burned more completely so it's not an issue.

So to allow efi to operate with a cam with overlap we simply turn off the o2 at idle so the raw fuel doesn't confuse the ECM.
So the idle would remain about the same but normally a little smoother.
