I have a 1980 scout II with the original SD33 – T Motor that I has unfortunately been just sitting around.

The body and interior are immaculate however the original diesel motor has a slightly cracked head and cracked piston heads.

With that prior to putting it up for sale I was hoping I could get a consensus on the value as is.

    She lives in Southern Maryland.

Thank you for any response. I’ll be placing the truck for sale on this site soon after.

    Wow she's a beut!

    $5 bucks??

Seriously though guys have been selling rigs with patched up bodies online in the $15K US body.

With the engine being toast. I think if you want top $ for your money. Find a 304 or a 345 and swap it in.

Sucks that your engine is busted. What's the interior like? If it's original-looking, that's a big plus. If it's gold shag carpet to match the exterior, that's bad.

As far as a value, you probably have a $7,500 shell. With a running motor double that, so like Winchested said, put a motor in it if you want top dollar.

Completely done up running perfect with good suspension, engine, body and interior might be worth 20k or more these days.
A good running Scout will eat a jeep Rubicon and fiat is getting 60 thousand for those things.

Gas it ! Throw away SD33. Sell the parts, that will pay for a good 345 !

Don’t throw the SD33T away! Some of us are still gluttons for punishment!

Good bodies are harder to come by and more expensive than a good running SV (or your choice of engine).
