Made numerous changes to my 2WD Travelall. Sorry guys but the 304 needed to go so I could upgrade to a GM SBC and 5 speed tranny. Also removed the old rearend and installed a 1990 Iroc Z rearend with discs and posi trac unit. Monte Carlo front discs with a 9" double diaphragm booster. GM steering column and Ford Truck power steering and steering linkage. I know it's a Frankenstein but it should have all the amenities I want as a daily driver. Also planning on pulling my camper for local camping. IMG_3525.JPG [IMG] IMG_3531.JPG [IMG]

Looking nice. I like the guage setup and wheel. It may be a Frankenstein that is all personal taste and also depends on what you need out of it. Me, I am a IH fan and think they should maintain original power, BUT I'm also realistic and these builds. Hell, I think we all are. That is why we put Fuel Injection and other upgrades on them. I will be subscribing to your Build and look forward to the updates.

Yeah the IH equipment is great. But my wife wanted a minivan and she settled for a Travelall lol! The 3 speed on column just wasn't doing it for her. So now I have to modernize it to keep her in it! Darn the bad luck! Lol
    Thanks!

looks great ! NICE, what ever to make HER happy ! them 3 speed column shift pretty much turned to junk after 30 years, was nice new, but when they get wore out, not so good.

Yeah the upgrades for the Travelall's just aren't there. Added the power steering from a Ford Truck. Booster is a GM and bolts up easily. Wiper motor is from a 99-00 dodge truck. Small modification there too![IMG][IMG]

    Chade,
What GM steering column did you use? It looks like a tilt with no ignition key on the column. How difficult was the conversion?
    Thanks, Mike

The column conversion was fairly easy. I used a 30" but it was just barely long enough. Use a 32" like this.

You will have to require your turn signals and hazard lights. I haven't done that yet but don't expect to have a major problem once the Travelall is color coded.

Bindermike with the column I installed a 68-79 Ford power steering box. I used all the steering linkage and tie rod ends as well. You would have to taper the steering arms to match the tie rod ends if you go that route. Manual gearbox is mounted direct to the original column.

Well it's up and running strong! GM SBC with the NV4500 5 speed trans makes it a nice ride! 4 wheel discs and posi rear differential. Man this is a different car.

Made a 3 hour pull on the Travelall and got 12mpg. I was extremely satisfied.

This wiper motor fits the same bracket as the old international motor mounted. You will have to modify the shaft (key it) because the new motor is a taper shaft. Mine works fine, I just didn't wire it for low/high speed. It's either on or off.
