I pulled this one home from Arkansas about a week ago.
It´s been sitting for a long time.
The engine turns over by hand.
I can´t have another one, so I will clean it up, see if it will run (after a pre-oil of course) and find it a new home.
Binder Bookie inquired about the color, so I posted some wheelwell shots of the blue.
It has 16¨ wheels that I really like the look of and a cool 2 tone back seat that the rats liked too.
The NDT spare is still on the tailgate and along with the back seat makes the rear cargo area completely useless. I´m not sure how either survived in their original location so long.
    LST is also attached.

Another possibility is that during it's time of service, it was painted Air Force Blue over a tan. As I said in the other thread, 1512 is in the Tan, Brown and Black paint group so it'a case of no makee sense.

I just looked up the paint codes for the military Scout I have and most have codes with paint group numbers that match what was determined to be the original paint. One other is unknown because I cannot see the vehicle to know it's original paint (I just ran across the LST in another search). Yours is completely anomalous.

When I look at your picture, it almost looks like the the blue might have been painted over other apint where there where chips. If that were the case, maybe the AF reapplied undercoat? Have you looked under the cowl and places like that?

    Thanks.
It's got rusty floors, I just haven't posted any pictures yet.
But, overall it's a solid truck.

Cool Scout. It appears to be in good shape other than being a mouse habitat fo some time.
There appears to be blue over-spray on the decals. I’d guess not the original color.

I kind of agree on the antenna. I've never see that antenna previously, and right now (till other facts present themselves) I do not believe that this is an IH antenna.

OTOH, I've seen variations, such as the double post antenna, and, I believe I've seen left hand side mounted antenna's on Scouts previously. I need to dig around and see if I can turn up anything picture wise, substantial now to back up that comment.

It just doesn´t make sense with the emblems in that area. It is very crowded. The radio is a Motorola, but unlike any I´ve seen in a Scout.

Hmmmmm......I've got the same Scout emblem, All Wheel Drive emblem and "V" emblem identically on both left and right sides of my 800 front fenders.

However, I'm going to fall back, and let this be "a battle I choose not to fight". Not that anyone here has ever got hot headed with me. BP is an awesome forum and I'm glad I'm here.

I went thru my personal IH picture archive, nothing there.

I did several site searches, and I did (ultimately) get a fair number of hits. And those hits can be broken down to column A and column B. Pretty much a 50/50 mix.

Half of those hit were like this one, where there was a drivers side and/or left hand side antenna, and it was very obviously installed by a PO. More than one Binder owner made the decision that there left hand side antenna was non-stock by looking at their Line Set Ticket, and noting that their Scout was ordered without a radio.

Then there is the other half. Had I found any real evidence for a left hand side antenna, I suspected that it might have been in the archives. But it wasn't, at least from the perspective of a visual history.

Seems that 'back in the day', everyone was throwing their images up on throw-away image hosting sites, and literally, every thread hit I had was void of pictures.

People, if you post pictures, please post them here, vs linking them to some throw-away image hosting site. Your pictures are good here at least as long as BP is around.

I'll get a picture of my antenna position.
I've owned the V8 Scout fender before and it worked from a layout perspective. This was put in because it was easy and effective and it doesn't work.

Neat old Scout Randall. You have a good nose for sniffing out this stuff. (Not the mouse though). I hate those vermin. Try some stuff called "Cab Fresh". They run and hide from it. Better than moth balls, dryer sheets, Irish Spring Soap, etc.

How many miles are on the clock? Looks to have not been beat or wrecked. It's amazing how few old Scouts are out driving anymore. For that matter, how few you see sitting. I think you should add this to your line up and keep it. Scout Disease is alive and well at your place---------LOL. John

    More pics.
The front skid plate appears to be something that the military Scouts have. It isn´t some hack job PO thing. IMG_20191008_100741884_HDR.jpg IMG_20191008_100624061.jpg IMG_20191008_100624061.jpg
