I have done enough to Beater to really be confident on its reliability on the road. I still need to fix the improper cooling system install, it works ok, but it just looks bad and isn't centered on the core support. So the air intake for the heater on the drivers side is partially block.

So anyhow, I went for a drive today and I have to admit.....this little 196 with a 32/36 weber and a Pertronix ignition, moves right along. It pulls well and the GIANT jump from 2nd to 3rd is taken in stride and doesn't hinder it. Its great right up to around 55mph, after that it gets kinda busy, it likes to be around 3000rpm. The engine is solid mounted and I need to replace all the mounts......engine and trans. It will probably be better about vibration after that, we will see.

Congratulations on completing your engine swap.

Your comments match statements from others I have visited with who have gone from the 152->196. Big jump in power and driveability.
