2980740A-CB63-4D94-A63F-294E296E75BC.jpeg I just got this truck a few weeks ago and would love to bring it back to life. Not sure If there is interest in posts about repairing this rotten old truck. I have some questions but I hate to drop into a forum with zero posts asking for help. :)

I’m not sure how long it has been parked but at least 30+ years. Body is In pretty good shape but the motor was rough. Had a spun bearing so the engine needs repair. Everyone wants me to put a bigger more modern motor but I think the SD220 is pretty neat other then parts availability.

You'll find lots of help available here, especially if you want to leave it original. Just ask and the answers will pour in. Sometimes a bit slower than others as people are away from the forum at times for other things.
    Welcome aboard.
Your location will help immensely if you start looking to find parts.

I am in Alaska so shipping any parts can get real spendy.

The SD220 was seized from what I was hoping was age but in the end it was a spun beating on the connecting rod. The journal is damaged but I think it will grind out. The connecting rod is bent. Worst of all it busted a chunk of the case out. I just got the head, case, and crank to the machine shop. We are going to sleeve the block where the lower cylinder got busted, grind the crank, and clean up tune up the head.

I see EGGE machine makes the flat top pistons but do they make oversized or are they available somewhere else?

    OUCH!
At least it broke the skirting off and doesn't look like it got into a water jacket. A sleeve should work.
I don't know the answer to the piston question but certainly people here do. Used rods should be very available as well and they are small enough to ship.
    Good luck.
