With the frame cut down 4” the cab now sits level. The bed floor had to be raised 6” so the box matches the cab[IMG]

Made a panel to fill the gap

The rear fender opening now a little more proportional to the top of the tire [IMG]

With the sheet metal sitting on the chassis I was able build hardware and mount the 2 together.

I dropped the carrier bearing down 1.5” to help with the new angle and shortened the drive shaft 20”[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Nice fab work. I don't think I'd try to haul full rated load now, though.

Thanks Dean. You are correct. It has definitely been de-rated. It’s going to be an advertising truck for his upholstery business. He didn’t want bumpers and wanted to make a wood floor for the bed?
He will be adding 2” drop spindles to close the gap [IMG]
It wouldn’t have been my 1st choice of chassis. But since I’ve gotten involved its definitely grown on me

You get lucky every once in awhile. I was so impressed with the steering column.

The IH 2 piece column comes apart at the shaft support bushing. The lower support bearing of the Dodge column is the same O.D of the lower tube. The shafts are different diameters, so that’s where they [IMG][IMG]we’re spliced. Between the bushing and the bearing

I’ve been mounting the master cylinder and backing plate. Cut an 1.375” hole for the clutch slave cylinder. Not sure what retains it from the inside, it’s not with the cylinder?

The clutch and brake pedal assembly from the Scout is an exact fit. The brakes should work with some adjustments. The master is full and the lines were never broken. Although there is an extra 20” kink that eventually should be shortened [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Was a good day. More room to get back on the Scout. The owner is pleased and eager to get going on it. The truck driver took it to mechanics shop to get it running next[IMG][IMG]

Glad to be back on the Scout. Found a Radiator made by Griffin to fill the gap.

Since the Radiator and support was moved forward I decided to make it removable and utilize the 3 bolts on each side for the front fender mount.
Notched the frame down 1” and capped level

Made the crossmember/cradle for the Radiator to sit down in. And will tie it all together with more support

Radiator support is secure. Moved it out 8”.
It just meets the backside of the head light buckets. It’s mostly original just rearranged a little. Had to move the passenger vent opening over closer to the fender. [IMG]

With the floor support restructured I needed to rework the trans-tunnel. It’s originally tapered from end to end. So I split it and squared it and widened. Added a divot and added the new 700R4 shifter and opening

And patched the 50 hole-hole that was in the dog house

This was basically the only rotten spot [IMG][IMG]
Got it patched up. And starting on the floor panels. Also in the process of building and rotisserie so I can focus on blasting

Stripped down the little GM seats and drilled out the spot welds on the sheet metal head rest and removed. The frame has the perfect taper for clearance [IMG][IMG]
