View Full Version : Speaking of exhaust (RD406)

On the exhaust manifold on my R-200 with RD406 there are 2 clamps over what looks like asbestos covering the gap between the sections. The clamps and wrap need to be replaced. What are you guys using for that?

McMaster-Carr has flexible thermal insulation sheeting in mineral wool, ceramic and silica, along with stainless banding kits. Might do the trick in your application:

The 126565R1 gaskets are not hard to come by, but the 126566R91 clamp assemblies which include the gasket are getting really hard to find.

I know this is a couple weeks after the fact - I haven't been looking here much lately. I got a set of those manifold joint clamps with the asbestos strips from Tom Underwood from Kansas. Also got the correct carb for my 406 from him - all at the ATHS show in Hutchenson this past summer. He advertises in Red Power all the time, but I never realized he had so much in the way of truck parts
