Scout II full top, decent shape but the passenger side rail at the back is rusted in a few spots. Better than average for these parts, white color, thought I had it sold and it needs to be gone! $50, located in Northern IN, about 15 miles West of South Bend, close to I-94, I-80/90 and US 31.

Fire sale.....I guess I'm sick cause I can joke about it, but that's about it. I've got some IH parts that survived the fire that could stand to find a new home. IM if you're interested.....
345 Spreadbore intake manifold, good shape, $75
Two Scout type oil pumps with pickups, unknown condition, call them rebuilders, $40 the pair
Scout II oil pan, could stand paint but no holes, no major rust and no big dents, $30

Hey - was browsing my ebay searches and found that Quinn has two Scouts up for bid.
1971 International Scout 800B Commanche (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3***%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem=&item=130178402572)

If I were shopping today, I think I'd be all over that little 800B. Of course, I won't need it come February when I win the Danner Scout. ;)

** Needed **
Oil filler cap
I'm assuming that any generic one will fit, but like the idea of stock IH ( at least as far as the engine area goes.
Yes, I'm a doo doo head for losing mine! Put some oil in and must've forgot to put it back on :hammer:
Thanks, Dan

This isn't mine, but I did buy some of this....oil for 'our' engines, that has enough zinc, is getting hard to find. This stuff is 'old spec' diesel oil that will have plenty of zinc and should work great in our IH's. The guy lives in Southern MI but the oil is in Toledo....just an FYI.

No motor, trans or tcase. Crappy 27 front axle, rear is some offset 44 thing.
Body is sold except for a softball size hole in the 1/4 between the wheel well and the door and someone hacked up the firewall. Manual steering and brakes.
I really hate to sell it but finally realize i will never get to it.
I'd rather see someone build it than me cut it up and sell the parts

This is a very sad day, but I have to sell my Scout. It is fairly clean with a few bubbles here and there(no holes). It has a 345 V8 that runs great, but the carb needs to be adjusted/replaced. The 727 tranny needs to be rebuilt, it works fine but you have to keep on top of the fluid level. It has a spring over lift on 35x12.5x15 BFGs. It is green with white Rallye striping. I can send photos if you are intrested. Asking $7000.00 OBO.

OK guys, I guess I need to offer some more incentive. I will offer any member of the GLB my Scout for $6250.00, and if your nice I may even discuss a deal from that. I sure would like to see someone pick her up before summer so they can enjoy her when the weather arrives! Jerry, your still looking for an IH, right? :whistling:

I have it posted on Greatlakes4x4 and Craig's List. I heard from a few people from the Craig's posting, but that is it. Once summer comes I will bring up to Silver Lake and park it out front of the cottage. Never had anything last a weekend up there!

I hate to do it, and in the end I probably won't, but I'm considering selling the 79 Traveler I picked up not long before the garage fire. My plans were to turn it into a Terra, but I've got a lot of projects on the plate now, and no energy to match. It's a California truck with almost zero rust- carpets are loose so you can check underneath, and the paint is still on all the floors. Undersides (body mounts etc.) are just as clean. It has a couple of bubbles on one side right behind the door, and that's it, couple dents here and there, but otherwise it's exceptionally clean, both body and interior. Has a 345 four barrel automatic with Dana 20; engine appears original but has a knock, probably a piston slap, in #2 cylinder. Distributor is a points type abortion out of a school bus or something with a governator on it....
Has factory white spokes with pretty well worn 31's. Will provide your choice of either a good 304 engine (you can hear it run if you bring the beer and help me pull it afterwards) or a good 345 two barrel from a 78 Scout that was properly prepped and has been in good dry storage for a couple of years. This will make somebody a VERY nice Scout with not a lot of work; I was planning on running it to Nats this year because it needs a lot less work than my soft top that was damaged in the fire. I need $3200 for it with your choice of the two replacement engines. No pics right now, but if you're seriously interested I can get some in the next few days.

Hi guys, got some parts in that need to find a new home quickly. If the heavy stuff isn't gone within a reasonable amount of time, it'll go to the scrapyard and I'm not wanting that to happen
1- Builder 392 engine. This is apart, and has been bored .030 already, but MAY need to be taken out one more step due to rust. It hasn't been in the open, but it does have light surface rust that should hone off, might even boil off in the hot tank. Standard crank is good but needs polishing, heads are good, all bearing caps are there and accounted for. No con rods or externals, but I'll include a 345 short block that has most of what you'll need. $100 pickup only, the two engines will bring more than that for scrap!
2- NEW two piece rear floor pan (the bed area) for Scout II, from Super Scout Specialists. SSS price $240, this one is brand new but torn packaging, $150.
3- New Lunati RV grind cam for IH SV engines. This is the cam only, no lifters, lube or kit. NOS price is $119 on the box, I'll take $75, will ship to anywhere in continental US for $10 more. I don't know the exact specs but I'll try to get them and update.
4- New set of National Spring 4" lift springs for Scout II. These were installed on the truck but never driven, and still have the stickers on them. National Spring price with bushings is $740, I'll take $500. Shipping these would be $$$ but if you want to set it up, I'll do what I can for you.
May have more to post shortly, this is just the first list.....my neighbors are going to have a 'rope in a tree' party for me pretty soon if I don't start moving some of this stuff out of here! Some of this might be able to be delivered with prior payment, I'll be tripping in MI to up near the bridge in a few weeks, and I travel to Southern IL fairly often; I could adjust my route some to deliver into Southern IN for gas money.

1968 Travelall I think thats the year hardly any rust. It has been painted once and shows very little signs of rust no signs of filler. All chrome is there. Exhaust tailpipes still shiney. Has a 345 in it that ran when parked 15 years ago. Title but no key! It is the cleanest one around here that I have seen. No rust on doors or fenders. It has the big rounded rear wimdows, 1 cracked. The only rust I see on the outside is the rear tailgate that has minimal rust. Anyhow, if anyone is interested in it e-mail me at dc7dewitt@yahoo.com I will give you more details and I have some pictures. $700.00

Hey Guys!
Well - It appears like I have another '66 800 bought..... But, instead of being 2 miles from me. This one is 300+ miles away. I am looking for a glove box door for it and probably some more stuff later on I'm sure. Don't remember if I told the saga of how the last was sold out from under me and went to the "GRINDER"!!!!!!!! That stunk - Big Time!

I have a '62 Scout 80 that I am parting out. I bought it so it wouldn't get crushed for scrap metal, so I'm offering parts up for cheap. Here's some pics of the truck. I'm offering the stuff up to Michiganders first, then I'll post in the BB Classifieds. I really don't want to ship anything large and I may be able to bring some items to Nationals. The top looks strange because it apparently used to be a Travel Top that a P.O. cut down to make a 1/2 top. It does fit onto the fixed bulkhead. You can even stop by and pull what you want. The headlight buckets and tail light lenses are already spoken for. Passenger fender is ruined for obvious reasons. Both rear quarters are shot.
Rear bumper - $10
Doors w/ sliding windows (passenger side good, drivers side needs work) $50
for both
Tailgate with IH logo - $50
Hood - $25
Driver's side fender $25
Nose piece (grille is ruined) $30
Cargo door (Passenger side rear of seat) - $5
Steering column with Wheel - $35
If there's anything you need, PM me. I have more pics. Paul

Kayline soft top includes hardware. Velcros to tailgate and track on the side no snaps for sides or tailgate. No tears windows average need 1 spot on the right hand side along the zipper for the back door that needs restiching..canvas shop told me 25bucks just never got around to it. The top is tan..for a scout2 $275.00
Also I thought it was sold but no replies back so I have 2 end caps and tailgate basically the scout was cut off just before the end caps all the way around. Tailgate is repairable no dents has some rust. End caps are good need a little work on the very top. $100.00 for the entire deal. If you want just the pair of end caps I will take off the tailgate and hardware you will have to seperate the end caps from the posts. $75 bucks
Still have a set of NOS rear quarters for a scout2 $200.00

Well I have decided to go in a slightly different direction with the scout, and because I have not had the time to work on the scout (or the money)... Might as well put these up...
1 Scout 2 top. needs some love along the rear hatch and drivers window and fiberglass hatch. (no windows, but I have the window listed below) $75
2 Scout 2 rear windows $25 per
1 Scout 2 tailgate... Not sure of the shape, I have not tried stripping the rust / paint on it, but no spots that feel rotted through. $25
2 Scout 2 Doors, driver door has fist size hole to be patched, and right not the inside panel and handles are off, started to fix up.. I have not gotten to the passanger door, but have not found any "soft spots" $50 per
Also considering selling the front and rear bumbers... not sure yet, shoot me a price if interested.
Right now all parts are mounted on the truck
Trusk seen here, parts may or may not be shown in current state http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74380

Anybody need a complete 345? I got it in a parts deal, it's supposed to run good but I've never heard it run. Missing some externals like carb and distributor, but at least it would be a good 'core' engine, and might just be a diamond in the rough. I know of the guy who the guy I got it from, got it from (follow that?) and as far as I know he's a square shooter, so it is probably a good engine as is. Pay $20 and take your chances, or use it anchor your yacht. I need it gone out of the garage! I'll be making a trip up to the Lansing area next weekend most likely and might be able to find a spot for it if that would persuade somebody up that way that might need it.
Edit- it's going to "Darren's Scout Barn" so any of ya'll that need it, might try weaseling it off of him....

Alrighty, I've got a 1980 scout traveler for sale- you can find more details in the General IH tech under my thread "new scout"- i dont have the time for this one right now, and i need barn space, so i'm willing to let it go for what i paid for it- $600. I replaced the distributor and plug wires, and she runs strong- the timing just needs to be adjusted.

Greetings from Wisconsin. Glad to see there might be some scouts still around the area that haven't fallen apart from rust
I have the following up for sale
Main door windows for a Traveler or Terra-$75
Axles from a 2WD 76 scout II, The front rotors look a little thin but the calipers look good or can be rebuilt, also the shields are good, rear is a 44 with 3.07 gears-price is negotiable
727 tranny off a 2WD scout II, I think you would just need to get the gear for the rear in order to use it in a 4WD. Ran fine prior to scout teardown-75
Old seat belts for a bench seat scout-$little to nothing$
Tranny cover plate from 2WD scout-$5
Front Grill from a 76 Terra-small crack on corner and stress cracks around screw holes, chrome is bubbles a little, just needs some clean up and maybe paint-$40
Extra frame for a Terra/Traveler-some rust holes I welded up, needs some help but is salvagable. $50
5 steel wheels no idea what they are worth, tires are still on them but not good
I have a lot of other parts, so feel free to email me with what you are looking for
If my prices seem out of wack let me know and we'll talk, Part of this is to finance my rebuild of my 76 Terra and part is to clean out the garage.
Thanks

I would think it would cover shipping. The only issue would be that they are from the front bench seat. I don't know if they are different from the back or not as I only have a terra. I had two sets and clean them all up and took the best ones, so they are not perfect. I can put them in a box and take them up to the UPS store sometime to get a more realistic view of price if you like. Or just give me a email with your phone number and we can talk further. Thanks for the interest. I would like to see them in a good home. Just in case you want to know I am at zip code 53711. Are you sure you don't know anything about floors????

Might want to see what jeeps had for a width, it would probably be cheaper and easier to come by than an 800 seat... I understand the whole jeep into an international thing, but put a cover on it :) I would imagine ones from any year would probably put you pretty close..

My post is probably a little ambiguous but the intent is to Sell everything I have IH for $4500.....It is all here, 25 years of accumulation. The 65 is a bring back from Wyoming and is in very good original condition...my daily driver for 4 years. There is alot of Everything.
Basically I sold off my extra parts a few years ago and now really am not interested in parting out any more at this time. Fortunately I know the history of each unit and have a good idea what they are worth.
Although the price might seem high, there are enough parts to completely restore 2 Scouts..(an 80 and a 800A or B.) with lots o parts to spare.
I am getting to old to remove parts to ship.
Yes I have a back seat to.
No I dont need anymore IH parts, but thanks anyway.
I'll get some more pics up asap.

I was kind of glad to see SSS is making the repops myself. It's pretty common to find one that has one bad spot and the rest might be OK, you can buy the parts of the inner fender separately and fix the ones you have too. I've probably scrapped some that could have been fixed with a part or two and now I wish I hadn't......but at that time the pieces weren't available and I'm not up to building sheet metal parts from scratch. A big part of my problem with parts is I always figure I'll end up needing what I have, so I really don't want to sell them....enough times it's turned out that way, and I end up having to buy what I sold six months before for twice what I sold my parts for. I hate that feeling!

I don't like being the cop on the block for disagreements over sales, but to be fair I deleted the for sale post as well as the replies. If you have parts for sale, then sell parts, if you want to sell a parts truck 'complete' then just list it that way, 'prefer to sell intact, if not sold intact by XX date, will be parted'.
As for the replies, I can see both sides of this, but I don't see a 'bait and switch'. I see somebody with that maybe should have worded the ad differently BUT if they have a chance to sell the truck this weekend to someone that called first, that's not a crime. If you feel this is dishonest, you have the privelege to not buy anything from this member in the future.

Default The crooks amoung us.
Okay here it is. We in the IH community have alot of great vendors and fabricators at our disposal. However we also have some down right crooks amoung us. There are several vendors currently advertised here that for years have made a living ripping off the unfortunate people that happen to stumble onto them. Unfortunatly every time a thread comes up about their improprieties it gets edited or deleted by the moderator. So there is no history of their criminal, unethical, and down right bottom feeder behavior. Thus the continuing cycle of rip offs, lies and cover ups. It reflects badly on this forum and IH vendors in general. What can we as a group do about this to see that negative feedback is not deleted so people searching for vendors and fabricators can make an educated decision? Its time something gets done about this.

I hope this would apply for unscrupulous individuals as well.

Obviously you didn't understand my post for what it was, which was an attempt to get this thing off the board and to stop the character slamming in public, which is not the place for it. It is completely within your right to post a negative feedback if you want to, but we don't need the entire story drug back up after I deleted the posts in an attempt to be fair to both parties. You have your opinion, he has his, and I have mine. Post your negative feedback and be done with it and stop the drama!

I'm new to the club and I hope that i'm not getting ahead of myself. I am in the middle of purchasing a large lot of used IH parts and before I buy them I wanted to see if there was any interest. There is a lot more here than I can use and I would need to sell some to help pay for it. As for the parts there is mainly 69 to 75 truck parts and most of that is sheet metal (no beds). There is a couple of western rust free cabs and dog houses, lots of front fenders, ect. As for scout parts there is a decent travel top, a couple of pairs of good front fenders and 2 complete inner quarters (100") with wheel houses that were taken off a scout at IH years ago. All of these parts have been in storage for years. Send me a PM if you have any interest or needs and I will get back with you soon. It may take a few weeks to get these items home and I would rather have items picked up because of their size. let me know and I will see if this deal is worth doing.

Have these rims that I took off the scout in the pictures. Tires are about 25% Pretty decent rims..they are alloy...$50.00 that should be fare for all 4! They hold air one, the one I took the picture of is about 50% and the scout has been parked since Sept.

Anybody looking for a Terra project? This is the truck I picked up to use as a body donor on my plow Traveler, but since I have the fiberglass Scout now the Traveler is going to go away as is and this Terra is available.
The pics pretty much tell the story- it's a V8, automatic, had AC (evap housing is still under the dash) with a two speed case. The body needs work, but it's head and shoulders more solid than most around here- I had figured on front body mounts, floors, and outer rockers, the inner rockers seemed OK when I looked at the truck (haven't messed with it since) and the doors shut OK considering. Actually the floors don't look bad other than at the outer edge. The worst of the body is the outer quarters, specifically the driver's side, but I have a pair of glass quarters from another parts truck that can go with. This Terra had a light hit on the driver's side, it banged up the front fender, inner fender, and hood support. Supposedly the accident happened about ten years ago, the owner put it in his barn and it sat there til the owner got tired of it taking up space and sold it to a scrapper. That guy knew it was too good to scrap, and it ended up here. Miles show 59,000 and change and are supposedly original according to the title, it was a one family vehicle since new, the guy I bought it from knew the truck and the family.
The 'goods' are the doors, passenger front fender, windshield and windshield frame (no rust visible on it), all glass is good, top is nice. Interior has that nice 'mouse' smell that kind of confirms a 'barn find' but that'll clean up.
I have most parts to put this thing back together, including the glass quarters, the driver's side inner fender, and the outer grille shell and headlight assemblies. I think I have a hood support, and I probably have a repairable front fender that can go with it also. I have NOT tried to fire this up yet, I have a lot on my plate right now and it's down on the list. If it doesn't sell for this price, then eventually I'll get around to making it run from a can of gas, verify that everything works, and the price goes up. I have no reason to think that it won't run and run fine with a little tinkering, since it was parked due to the body damage. I can deliver a reasonable distance (as in, 100 miles or so) for $1.50 a loaded mile. I might be able to go a little further, or cut the cost a little depending on how hard you haggle. The price of the Terra WITH most of the stuff it needs to go back together is $1200 firm. I will work with a serious buyer if they need something different, such as just the tub on the rolling chassis, or if you don't need the parts to go with. I don't plan to part this one out, it's really in decent enough shape to go back together and make a nice driver, so unless somebody pops up and wants the tub and chassis/drivetrain the other parts won't be available. PM me for any other info.....

I actually gathered a few things that I needed for it this morning, some from the Scout I'm parting out, like the headlight buckets. I COULD have used the hood support from that one, but it was so rusty I sawzalled it in half so I could just yank the engine and trans out the front. But I'm sure I have one here, just have to find it....

Sounds good, but in the interests of honesty, it's not a Terra per se, it's a Scout II with a Terra top. Shorter than a standard Terra, but I think very cool looking...and as of right now, it's still here, I haven't advertised it anywhere else but here. I wanted people on here to get first dibs, it's cheap enough that if I put it on Craigslist or Ebay classifieds some idiot will buy it and trash it out as a mud truck, and it's really got way more potential than that. There are Scouts that are suited for that, but then there are Scouts that are worth fixing and saving and that would make good daily drivers if you wanted to, and this is one of the latter. But for the price, I can see some 17 year old kid trashing it out, and that wouldn't make me happy.

I have some parts from a '77 Scout II:
Frame - in great shape, no rot, I am really amazed at how good of shape this thing is in
T-19/Dana20 Tranny/TC (manual) - Dont know much more
Original step style bumper with integrated hitch ball (at least I think they were original on the Scout 2s) Should clean up well - It has a goofy piece of aluminum bolted on the top vertical (only 4 small holes) that can easily be removed
Back Seat Frame in decent shape, may need a bit of rework and needs to be recovered (vinyl is done)
Let me know if your interested and I can get you some pics. Will sell or possibly trade

The title says it all. I've got a 76 Scout Terra parts truck that I need to get out of here. This is a pretty complete truck, missing only a couple small parts- but all lights, gauges, NICE terra top, good bulkhead, Dana 44's front/rear with 3.54 ratio, and FIBERGLASS REAR QUARTERS are all still there. Engine is a 304, I messed with it a bit today and got it running on gas I poured into the carb vent, and it ran surprisingly good with no rattles or knocks. The gauges still work, and I got almost half scale on the oil pressure gauge during it's brief time running ( I had to shut it down, it blew the pressure tranny cooler line under the radiator and made a mess, and was making more of a mess every second). Trans is automatic of course, shifter or cable is frozen up and won't move, but I think tranny is OK, fluid didn't stink when I got a bath of it ;). Transfer case is Dana 20 two speed. Oh, and it had AC too, that is still pretty much intact.
I want this gone, I have the quarters advertised for $250 in my 'Nationals parts' thread, the Terra top and bulkhead are worth probably $200 as are the axles and rest of the drivetrain. Pull all of that, and you still probably have at least $150 at the scrapper. I can pull the quarters, terra top and some smalls like gauges etc. and scrap the rest for probably $250 with the engine and axles in and make more money....but I'd rather not scrap usable IH engines and parts that they don't make anymore, my storage is getting way too full and I have no room for anymore IH engines or trannies now so if somebody can use this, grab it. If you always wanted your own personal 'parts Scout' here is your chance, and if you need a spare engine or glass quarters this is an even sweeter deal. Price is firm, it's worth it and you know it! Pick up at my place, about 15 miles West of South Bend IN. Thanks for looking!
