I was just added on Myspace and reminded of this site. I've posted on the main board a couple times in the past.

My name is Alan and I live in South Austin. I don't actually own a Scout, but my parents do. That's the good news. The bad news is that it's been parked since the mid 80's. :( They bought it new in 1974. It's a Scout II with the 348. I just don't have time or money to get it back on the road again, and neither do they. No garage to do work in either.

When I do get squared away and able to work on the truck, I'll have to prioritize projects. Also in need of restoration are a '69 GTO, '70 Chevy C-10 and '53 International Pickup.

I better win the lotto! :D

Hopefully my dad and I can make it to a group meeting and say hello. It might give him some motivation to try and get the beast road-worthy again.

 It's been so long since I've posted here, I forgot I had all that info in my signature.

Hey Alan,

Welcome. I'll email you some info on our club Monday. If you have any questions or just want to shoot the breeze drop me a line through my member profile. Hopefully we'll be able to help you get one, if not both, of those IHs back on the road!

Thanks guys. I'll snap a couple pics of each and get them on here. Beware though, they've been parked a long time. It saddens me to see them like that, but I have good intentions. I'd love to resurrect them. :D

The '53 is in the worst shape of all the vehicles. Not to say it's bend up or rust through though. It's orange from surface rust, but from what I can tell, it's still solid and straight. Missing the engine and the grille is from a Ford, I believe. I think it may have a little tree growing up through the engine bay too! haha It's parked off of South Congress on the side of a little private road on some family land. It's like a little hidden gem.
