Austin Scout sighting...

I saw this Scout II yesterday and again today. This morning I managed to catch the owner stepping out. I think she said it is a 1977. I told her about the Hill Country Binders group - unfortunately they won't be able to make it this weekend, but maybe sometime in the future. Nice looking Scout!

I thought I would resurrect this old thread in the hopes that others would post up pics of IHs they've spotted in our area...

The wife and I were on our way back from Port Aransas on Saturday. We were just north of Spring Branch on Hwy 281 when she screamed out "there's a Scout". Sure enough she was right. Apparently my years of training her are starting to pay off. Attached are a couple of pics of one I hadn't seen before. It looked to still be in service as it was parked right outside of the post office.

I saw one Saturday as well. It was a black SS pulling a travel trailer at Parmer and 620 at about 5:oo pm. It looked to be in great shape, didn't get to talk to the guy though.

Todays (8/28/07) Austin - Statesman newspaper has a picture on page 6 of a house in Jonestown where 4 people were killed Sunday. There is a Scout II in the driveway. Do any of you Central Texas know if there is a connection to our Hill Country Binders group?

Man I am not sure. My buddy, that knows I am heavily into the Scout thing, called me Sunday night and said tune to CNN. By the time I got tuned over I missed it. He said they were covering the story of the murders in Jonestown and he saw them trying to get fingerprints off of a Scout. He said there were two in the photo. Maybe someone knows something and will chime in. Jonestown is right around the corner for me, I am off of 1431.

I saw a red Terra downtown this past Saturday too.

I saw the same Terra again. This time in the Mueller development (Dell Childrens Hospital) Wednesday and it is actually a red Scout with a dark brown(?) Terra top. Looked to have a guy in his 20s driving it.
