I am almost ready to paint a fresh 304 and can't find IH red. There is Ford red 500F Dupli-color at autozone, checker, etc. Anyone know a source for hi-temp IH red paint? Thanks!

I used Chrysler Industrial Red on mine and I was very pleased with the results it is almost exactly the same color as the IH paint. I have read on here in the past where people have bought IH red high temp engine paint in spray cans, do a search and see what you can come up with.~John

Here's some sources of IH Red paint I compiled from the BB a few months ago.
I have used the Dem-Kote IH Red from Grainger. If you're not too particular about an exact match, the Ford Red would probably be close enough.

IH Paint Colors
Napa RufNek (Martin Senour) IH Red # 79021
CarQuest Plasti Kote International Red #1359

Dem-Kote 1D486 IH Red
Any Grainger store can get IH Red in Aerosol cans. It's made by the
Dem-Kote division of Rustoleum, under the Farm & Equipment heading. The
Grainger item number for IH Red is: 6MT47 "International Harvester Red".

TUCSON, AZ 85713
Phone: 520/745-8200

MSC Industrial (http://www.mscdirect.com) has the Rustoleum 7466
International Red in the spray cans for less than $5 per can.

Walmart has an IH red farm and tractor paint at some stores.

Tractor Supply Co.

Krylon makes a red called International Harvester red

Car Quest and Ace Hardware sometimes stock Plasti Kote International Red #1359. Approx 6.50 a can.

Northern auto parts sells an IH Red for high-temp engine enamel in a spray can

Your local Case/IH dealer sells the real thing in rattle cans, quarts and gallons.

That's enough info to be a tech tip. Thought of sending it to Sully?

Prescott Powder Coating did a great job for me on a flywheel cover, valve covers, intake manifold, alternator and power steering brackets, pulleys, valley pan, and a few other odds and ends. John Comer has most of that stuff, along with a 392 he's building for me.

I can't seem to find any water tubes or t-stat housings, though, so I may have forgotten to get them done. Now I have to decide if another color might be better.
