Anyone know a good Scout mechanic in the NY/NJ area? My power steering went and this is way beyond my skill set. Any help would be appreciated. I am still driving it but am getting tired.

My buddy is an amazing mechanic in the Trenton NJ area which is about an hour from Montclair. He has done all of the heavy lifting on my buildup, which has been considerable. Although the power steering on a scout is as straightforward as it gets. Anyone who knows there way around a GM set up should easily be able to work on your Scout. Send me a private message or email and I'll happilly provide his contact info or other info that might help you fix your problem.

I agree with Eric;
The power steering system does'nt get much easier. If you don't have the experience with it,...here's your chance. Learn by doing. I'm sure this isn't the only thing the 'ol Scout needs.

Was going to post last night, but got side tracked. My best advise would be not to drive it without the PS working properly. I have read stuff about guys having box blow appart with out lube. Not saying it will happen, as it is a very strong piece of metal. But I wouldnt take any chances unless you have no other choice. Just my 2 cents.
