I would start with this Rebuilding a mechanical fuel pump (http://www.binderplanet.com/forums/showwiki.php?title=Rebuilding+a+Mechanical+Fuel+Pu mp)
Then I would go here after reading the article and have this outfit send you what you need to rebuild what you have. Then and Now automotive. (http://dragsite.tripod.com/then_and_now_automotive.htm)

I would find a company near you that rebuilds these pumps and becareful buying NOS because the diaphram will last a short time and you will be back to square one.
These guys used to have kits and also rebuild the pumps. (see link below)
Something to remember when looking at Napa is that there were several trucks and even cranes and highlift belly loaders that had the BLD269 and that the Blue Diamond was common in civvy rigs of the day. Here are just three of many.
1947 KB-7
1948 KBS-6
1948 KBS-7
Anyone on here ever try a BD269 or BD282 (Black Diamond) pump on a BLD?
The late model BD pumps look the same minus the fuel bowl and would be easier to find. On a google search I found several BD fuel pumps for sale.
I believe the BD motors were built up to 1971.
Correct me if wrong please.:)

Hi guys the problem is I dont have a pump to rebuild. I have seen at least two different kinds advertised as bld 269 pumps. One style has one bowl on the bottom of the diaphram, and the other style has the bowl set to the side of the diaphram. The arm that goes in the block has a different angle also.

Does anyone know if the fuel pump from a M 5 331 will work on the 269 engine ? When you dont have a pump for reference it becomes difficult to find a replacement.
