Started the day throwing some BBQ on the smoker and opened up the Scout Lair for business. With technical support from my Binder Buddies and Awesome Patient physical support from my neighbors Tommy & James, we made a few different approaches and finally installed the freshly rebuilt TF727 with new RPT mount just in time for lunch. In typical Binder fashion, it fought every step of the way, but we managed to get it safely in place with no injuries or breakage. May all be a bit stiff tomorrow morning though.
Tomorrow I'll try to hang the refreshed transfer case, drive shafts, U-Joints and button up the drive train once and for all.
Took a few pics for the gang, including the RPT Mount and my good neighbors! All-in-all, a Great Scout Day!

Got the Dana 20 stabbed and tied in driveshafts to complete driveline with exception of shifter cable/cable associated brackets and new fluids all around. Few more pics for the gang. Still have the exhaust to go plus some more cleaning and painting of under-carriage, but that will come later, next is rear deck replacement and start of bodywork. Also need to install RPT Motor mounts, Borgeson Joint and finish wiring of gages and lights. Whew!
Slowly the shelf full of parts is starting to dwindle.

There's a little rust, but I was fortunate in that this one appears to have been Ziebarted at one time or another. Unfortunately, it didn't save the rear deck from a leaking top. I'm trying to clean and paint as I go, which is one reason why this is taking me forever), and the camera is very forgiving of my efforts.

Thanks to all for the support, both before, during and after!

Looks great, Sully! I felt good about what I had accomplished this weekend until I saw your photos. You put me to shame.

Keep up the good work!

I'd rather hide my imperfections with 1/8" steel diamond plate!
