Oh no, it won't be #'s matching! LOL, at least it will be easy to change the oil.

I thought of you as we put the diff covers back on

Today we got a late start on the day...had to do some running around this AM.

I finished up the brake job on the thing. Brake jobs are boring yet necessary. As soon as that was done, it was time to drop the motor in. Stabbing it in only took about 3 minutes.

After getting it bolted up with the new poly motor mounts, it was time to repaint the Ramsey PTO winch setup. It was originally red, so we painted it that color again. I painted the driveshaft red as well.

Robert sprayed the entire underside of the body with undercoating after prepping it. It came out looking really good and will protect the metal very well.

I'll say it again, Robert has some pretty neat tools at his disposal. Here I am using an air powered mini-sawzall looking thing to trim up the PTO winch frame clamps. FYI, these can be found at most any hardware store.

Tomorrow the body is going back on!

Well while we were ripping through this project, I got a phone call. I spoke with the owner of a Scout Tera with less than 10,000 miles on it, back ground story is the Tera was sold in 76 then repoed in 77, title paper work was messed up so the IH dealer stored it in a warehouse and forgot it for a ton of years. I had it dropped at my house to bring it back to life. Then to owner decided he really did not need it. Bottom line I bought it and it will be getting cleaned up and brought back to life soon. It has an SD33 with an auto tranny. first look for you folks. I sure do wish I had Gary for a few more months, but I am guessing this one will be on me

Today, we dropped the body down on the frame, bolted it up with some brand new body mounts from IH Only North, drained the transmission & t-case & refilled everything with synthetic 75w-90. We finalized the PTO winch setup, hooked up all the brake lines, adjusted the brakes, installed the radiator & hoses, fixed some wiring under the hood, yanked the pass. side tank, ran a new fuel line to the dr. side tank, etc etc.

We're getting pretty close to driving it around!

HAHAHA, oops, I'm using Roberts computer and posted the above post under his username, LOL

Here's a redneck way to get out a stubborn tension adjuster in the end of the drag link. It's a Dana 27 brake shoe

The drag link ended up being completely fubar'd but the local junkyard has a few Scout 80's and will be able to hook us up.

Hey Gary and Robert!

Enjoying your quick turnaround Scout 80 build.
Suggestion: when you take photos sideways, please reorient them before posting on BP. Makes it much easier to view them.

Well Gary and I have the Scout ready to fire, all set then when I added gas Gray points out the expanding puddle below the fuel tank. I made the call to rap this one up, I will order a new fuel tank from IHON Monday. Then I will need to grab the seat from Kit, I have a bunch of other work to catch up on but I had a great time with Gary and look forward to RMIHR when we will have a few beers and look over a few projects.

One of the reasons I pulled the plug on this one is because we wanted to have a little Montana fun, here are pictures of some man fun. Leona shot my Colt 45ACP and did a very good job with it. Myself and Gary were shooting a Cooper chambered in 204 Ruger, it's bad *** and will shoot a quarter size group at 300 yards. Guns in the bed of my 68 pickup. We also shot a couple pistols gary brought with him, I let Gary go into detail about his toys.
